Conferences to celebrate World Telecommunication and Information Society Day

To celebrate World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, the telecommunications, electronics and automation, computing, electronic engineering and computer engineering undergraduate programs organized several conferences for students and professors.
 
Cesar Vasquez, vice president in the university's branch campus in Cuenca, welcomed participants to the conference and spoke about the importance of holding these events so that students can develop their professional and personal skills. Cristian Palta, representative of the IEEE student branch, said this event is interesting for all engineering students.
 
There were four conferences:
 
- "The Transition from Engineer Junior to Engineer Senior and Leadership", presented by Ignacio Castillo, president of the IEEE R9 and professor at Universidad Autónoma de la Ciudad de México.
 
- "Design and Implementation of an Early Warning System of Forest Fires for the "Bosque Protector–Loma de Guayabillas" in the city of Ibarra", presented by Jaime Michelena, president of the ComSoc Communications Society IEEE Technical Chapter and professor at the Universidad Técnica del Norte .
 
- "The Internet of the Bio-Nano Things IoBNT", by Mónica Huerta, representative of Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) and professor of Universidad Politécnica Salesiana
 
- "Smart Cities", in charge of the General Manager of ETAPA E.P., Boris Piedra, who spoke about the future projects in the city of Cuenca in the technological field.
 
To close the event, IEEE student representative, Pedro Pineda thanked the speakers and participants for having attended.
