7 projects created by UPS professors and students were presented in the community of Pesillo, Cayambe. The prototypes will be used for the sustainable management of natural resources and for farming production.
 
The ceremony was organized by the community of Cayambe. "UPS thinks about technology and the needs of the community", said UPS president Javier Herran.
 
The event was attended by university officials, representatives of the geographic information systems laboratories and the sustainable development undergraduate program.
 
The projects were:
 
Electronic engineering:
 
- Carlos Campoverde and Juan Andrés Gualoto: Development of an independent energy flow measurement system.  
 
- Luis Miguel Jima and Carlos Andrés Novoa: Development of a hydrometric prototype using communicating vessels in the ditch of Pumumaqui
 
- Anderson Garzón and Esteban Adolfo Torres: Development of an automatic control of irrigation and monitoring for soil in the community of Paquiestancia
 
- Geremy Andrés Novoa and Byron Fernando Gillén: Development of a remote automatic agrometeorological station for the collection of climatic information in the Pisque river. 
 
- Pablo David Maldonado and Diego Javier Román: Development of a transducer for the flow in a Parshall type flume in the Pumamaqui irrigation channel
 
 
Computer engineering: 
 
- Norman Chuquirima and Miguel Ángel Silva: Analysis, design, development and implementation of a user registry software for the community irrigation system in Cayambe and Pedro Moncayo.
 
 
- Edgar Ladino Pinto and Richard Carrión: Analysis, design and implementation of software for the administrative management of community water boards for human consumption in Pichincha and Imbabura
 
Participants were awarded certificates for the course "Management of irrigation systems" and officials signed new agreements to continue working with the community of Pesillo.
