Around 200 professors from the university's branch campuses in Quito and Cuenca attended meetings on teacher training in order to strengthen human, professional, Christian and salesian competencies.

The main topic of the meetings was "Salesian identity in the university". UPS president Javier Herran spoke about the possibility of creating new strategies for planning, organizing and institutional evaluation by complying the university's mission and vision statements.

Father Luis Chela spoke about "The Salesian academic community: its history" and invited professors to reflect on how an institution called "Oratory" founded by Don Bosco began this pedagogical approach and influenced educational institutions around the world.

Father Juan Cardenas, director of the Salesian community of Yanuncay in Cuenca, presented the topic: "Salesians and non-religious people in Salesian works". This topic was about the people who lead the university: Salesians and non-religious people who are committed with the design, animation, orientation and university management.

During the meetings, professors attended conferences and workshops to analyze the current situation and context where Ecuadorian universities operate. Father Wladimir Acosta, advisor of the salesian congregation in Ecuador, spoke about the work of the university's pastoral department and the university's current context "which is the biggest Salesian work in the country."

Finally, Pablo Farfán led the conference "Leadership of the Salesain approach in the university". He spoke about the main guidelines for directing the university and management based on the Salesian Preventive System.
