Unidade São Paulo (UNISAL) - campus Pio XI in Brazil held the seminar titled "Os Jovens e os Direitos Humanos – Por uma Ética da Confiabilidade" (Young people and human rights – For ethics in accounting). An event that gathered several salesian institutions that are part of the IUS Education Group.

This event is held every four years for higher education salesian institutions ( Instituciones Universitarias Salesianas (IUS)) worldwide. Each institution carries out surveys, workshops, seminars and courses to reflect on and analyze the attitudes of salesian students that are part of the Education Group.

UPS professors Maria Sol Villagomez and Daniel Llanos attended the event and took part of the round table discussion on "Education and human rights: suggestions for IUS" aimed at creating awareness on the lack of attention of students in most national and international institutions.

During the inauguration, Father Marcelo Farfan, general coordinator of the IUS, presented the conference "Young people and human rights: Educational emergency". He spoke about the challenges that young people today have to face and how to solve them from an anthropological, cultural, social, pedagogical and theological perspective.

The general coordination of the IUS Education Group was assigned to Universidad Politecnica Salesiana, which represents an opportunity to work from research, production and academic exchange on the challenges of higher education in salesian institutions. UPS was chosen due to its experience in working with young people and society.
