The university held a welcoming ceremony for 175 students who will major in agricultural engineering and intercultural education, as well as students who are taking intensive English courses at the institute.

Father Fernando Guamán, director of the Salesian Community in Cayambe, welcomed everyone by making a historical review of the life of Saint John Bosco and his vocation for young people from the most vulnerable sectors. The vice president of this branch campus said that the University is the largest Salesian university in the world, so he encouraged the new students to preserve the academic quality which must be demonstrated inside and outside the classroom because that will motivate more young people to be part of our educational project.

The ceremony was also presided by Sebastián Granda , director of the intercultural education undergraduate program; Luis Peña, coordinator of the intercultural program in Cayambe; Diana Calero, director of the biotechnology program; and Janss Beltran, director of agricultural engineering.

They encouraged students to be enthusiastic and to smartly combine their studies with work and family time since this is the challenge that will make them successful in the future as long as they are responsible with their personal and professional life.
