The modern dance group from our branch campus in Guayaquil took part in the event of Creative Industries (MicBR 2018) held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Our modern dance group represented the only higher education institution in the country to take part in this event which brings together entrepreneurs in the cultural field in Latin America. 

 

Representatives from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay took part in cultural events and business meetings. 

 

"This was a great opportunity to present the group and the university at an international level", said María de los Ángeles Andrade, director of the modern dance group. The university's modern dance group was chosen by Ministry of Culture to represent Ecuador in this event. 

 

They performed:

 

- The musical CATS 

 

- They danced to Ecuadorian music

 

- Choreographies of international music

 

The event was also attended by Doris Herrera, assistant of Communication and Culture, and Juan Pablo Acosto, director of the theater group in Quito. They attended several training sessions such as the application of PMBOK techniques to manage cultural projects, the importance of creativity, creative economy and design.
