The university organized and held the 2018 Christmas singing festival titled "Children sing to children" in the university coliseum in Cuenca. 1200 children from different schools in the city attended the festival. 

UPS president Javier Herran welcomed the boys and girls who attend the festival and recalled that the festival is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

The festival was attended by the following schools: Instituto de Parálisis Cerebral del Azuay, U. E. San José de Calazans, U. E. Especializada, Miguel Merchán, Fundaciones Huiracocha Tutiven, PACES, Sthephen Hawking, Karen Tatiana, Centro de Rehabilitación Educativa Especializada. The choir groups that sang were from the following schools: Reino Mágico, Carlos Crespi and María Auxiliadora - Salesianas
