Students, professors and the overall public attended the conference "Theology Today", organized by the online theology undergraduate program. The conference was held in Guayaquil and Quito. The speakers talked about the role of theology and bioethics in modern society. The speakers were Stephane Vinolo, professor and researcher in modern methaphysics, and Guillermo Zuleta, researcher in bioethics.

Zuleta spoke about the importance of bioethics and defined it as a dialogue between two cultures: scientific and humanistic. "Bioethics should be creative and pedagogical; beyond knowing the contents, we must create attitudes and know people wholly without neglecting their social dimension". He also said that the university should be a place for bioethics because you can interact with different knowledge and permanently develop a teaching – learning process.

Vinolo, stated that theology goes beyond talking about God. Talking about God is different from to talking to God. "The former implies using our language, talking without him, not considering him in the conversation and leaving him inside the category of metaphysics. The latter on the other hand, disrupts these conditions. Theology is a prisoner of metaphysics networks, which focuses on finding the causes and not about having a reasonable conversation. In this regard, Vinolo stated that the talk about God should be complemented with the talk about love.
