The UNESCO chairs program: "Assistive Technologies for inclusive education" awarded students from Tecnico Salesiano High School and staff from the Cerebral Palsy Institute special recognitions for their work in benefit of people with disabilities.

Cesar Vasquez, vice president of the university's branch campus in Cuenca, congratulated the members of the UNESCO program and the GII-ATA Research Group for carrying out academic and community engagement activities 

Vladimir Robles presented the group AFINIDAD – SIGHT which will work alongside the IEEE and whose aim is to create humanitarian projects for those in need. The group is linked to the UNESCO program and all the undergraduate programs, its aim is to have the support of students that want to take part in humanitarian work.

Father Juan Cardenas, director of the salesian community of Yanuncay, said "academia is significantly contributing to social activities, I am happy to see students from tecnico salesiano high school taking part in these events and getting involved with research". 

"Science is only useful when we use it with love and pass it on to others ", said Fernando Pesantez, academic vice president.

Finally, Paola Ingavelez director of the biomedicine undergraduate program, presented the magazine "Juventud y Ciencia Solidaria". She explained that the aim of the magazine is to publish articles written by students who are part of the project.
