Three innovative projects were chosen at this year's entrepreneurship event titled "rETHOS Bootcamp", held from the 20th to the 22nd of June in the city of Cuenca.

This is the largest entrepreneurship event organized by the university and its Coworking StartUPS office. It has been held for four consecutive years already and in this year's event there were 95 participating students – entrepreneurs from our university, as well as other universities and for the first time high school students. Participants developed innovative projects and prototypes aimed at different sectors such as social development, technology, and the environment.

After three days of having workshops, conversations with national and international mentors and working on the projects, participants gave their pitch to the jury made up of: Analiz Gonzales, representative of the Ecuadorian corporation of research development; Camila Palacios, representative of the Ecuadorian entrepreneurship and innovation group and Jose Ochoa, from EQUINDECA company.

The winners of this year's boot camp were:

First place: "USHOP" (Quito). A platform for ecommerce that has geo- positioning. By analyzing data it provides information, shopping recommendations and other benefits for a more specific public.

Second place: "ADOPETS" (Cuenca). Ecological cobblestones made of recycled bottles.

Third place: "DELICRIK" (Guayaquil). Flour made from crickets, low in calories and with a very high protein nutritional value.
These projects were awarded seed capital and a business incubator for six months.

rETHOS Bootcamp was created to give students an opportunity to create innovative projects that can be turned into real businesses.
