The
The "Laberinto de Ariadna" project

From the 24th to the 28th of June, students, professors and administrative staff in our branch campus in Cuenca took part in the "Healthy Week Activities" to encourage everyone to stay healthy.

Vicente Mejia, Head of the students services department, said: "the pastoral department, human resources as well as our department got together to organize several events to encourage everyone's wellbeing".

The three main topics were: healthy coexistence, healthy lifestyles and risk prevention.

One of the most interesting activities was "laberinto de Ariadna", a laboratory used to measure violence in interpersonal relationships. This project is part of the Gender Institute of Universidad Central del Ecuador. The aim is that students identify forms of violence which have been normalized by society but cannot be considered correct.

During this week there were also yoga classes, talks on nutrition and gender violence. University officials said they have other future projects that will also get the university community involved, such as a competition to make videos and create awareness of sexual harassment.
