From the 19th to the 31st of August, Claudio Cañizares, professor of electrical engineering and computing in the University of Waterloo, Canada, will be teaching in the electricity master's degree program in our branch campus in Quito. 

Claudio Cañizares is well-known both in academia and for conducting research in stability, simulation, control and optimization, computer problems in energy systems, and is also a member of IEEE – PES research groups.

Esteban Inga, coordinator of the master's degree in Quito, said "UPS thinks having professors with broad experience like Claudio Cañizares will greatly benefit students. They will learn about the implementation of FACTs and HVDC systems in electrical engineering and other tools which they can apply in electrical systems"
