New officials of Universidad Politécnica Salesiana took office

The inauguration of new officials at Universidad Politecnica Salesiana (UPS) was held during the university's last superior council meeting held on September 11th. Father Javier Herran Gomez will take office as the university president for one more year, Fernando Pesantez Aviles was appointed the new general vice president, Angela Flores Ortiz the academic vice president and Fernando Moscoso Merchan as the new vice president of the university's branch campus in Cuenca. 

Father Fransisco Sanchez, inspector of salesians in Ecuador, thanked and congratulated the new officials for the service they will provide so that the university continues to grow and improve its quality education based on salesian charisma. 

Father Javier Herran thanked the directors of the salesian community for trusting his work and allowing him to serve the university.

The new officials will be in office for five years (2019 – 2024) according to article 10 in the university's statutes.  

During this meeting, representatives of the students federation, academic staff and administrative staff also took office. The inauguration of the new officials was presided by the university president and the general secretary, Ana Reino.
