Students presented their research in São Paulo

Students and professors from our branch campus in Quito presented their results of four research projects during the 4th International Congress on Salesian Education which was held from the 26th to the 28th of September at Universidad Salesiana UNISAL in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Ignacio Guaman, a student of basic education, presented the project titled "Indigenous women and higher education". The project presents the difficulties and challenges of women who graduated from the bilingual intercultural education undergraduate program and how becoming professionals has given them independence and social and economic empowerment in their communities.

Maria Jose Carranza, student of early education, presented her research on professors' education for children's education. She also spoke about new curriculums in Ecuador. 

Ivonne Lopez, professor, presented the topic "Dynamics of teaching – learning implemented in virtual mode"; the research determines the principles of critical pedagogy and the methodological strategies of the constructivist model through practical and experimental activities in the fields of communication, digital literacy and audiovisual use as a language of mediation between interlocutors in various geographical, cultural and linguistic contexts.

Maria Sol Villagomez, professor, presented the conference "Higher education, a political act and an alternative for research", based on popular education and Latin American pedagogies.

Villagómez also participated in the talk on intercultural education, research and training of educators at Universidad Federal de São Carlos, São Paulo, where she talked about the research processes in teacher training in cultural diversity contexts.
