The university took part in the event organized by the Salesian Community in the province of Azuay titled "Los Salesianos saludan a Cuenca" to pay tribute to the celebration of Cuenca's 199 years of independence. 

Several music and dance groups from salesian institutions in the province of Azuay put on a show with different presentations and traditional games.

The salesian institutions that attended the event were: Unidad Educativa Técnico Salesiano Campus Carlos Crespí, Unidad Educativa Salesiana María Auxiliadora, Oratorio Don Bosco, "Las Salesianas", Agronómico Salesiano de la UPS and Unidad Educativa Técnico Salesiano campus Yanuncay.

Josue Abad, Jose David Escandon and the group Caballeros del Sur also performed. UPS president Javier Herran thanked everyone for attending and invited everyone to work for making this city better.
