The 2019 CEDIA Awards

As part of the International Congress on Information and Communication Technologies (TICEC for its acronym in Spanish), Universidad Politécnica Salesiana  (UPS) received three awards during the 2019 CEDIA Awards, which recognizes the management, effort and dedication of Universities, Institutes, Colleges, Professors, Researchers and Technicians nationwide for generating and promoting a culture of scientific, academic and technological development in Ecuador.

For the Ecuadorian Corporation of Research and Academy Development (CEDIA), it is their responsibility to celebrate the commitment of higher education institutions to promote science, technology, development and innovation nationwide.

UPS won the following awards:

Outstanding institution in use of Technology service. This category recognizes the efforts of institutions that day after day promote the use and technological advancement in the country. The nominees have highlighted the use of CEDIA's technological services for strengthening their institutions.

Outstanding institution in use of Academy services; award received for fulfilling the objectives set by CEDIA: Training teachers and students academically is part of its pillar of action, contributing to institutions with themes of international interest focused on the development of the environment of science, technology and innovation, with the objective of training students, teachers, technicians and researchers according to the highest requirements and standards of the labor and professional market of Ecuador and the world. These institutions have seen CEDIA as their most important academic ally.

Outstanding institution in the use of Innovation services; This recognition generates a link between academia and the national productive sector on which innovation, technology and knowledge transfer is based. CEDIA shares a culture of innovation with institutions, with the sole objective that applied research will generate a benefit to society.
