From the 2nd to the 4th of December, Universidad Politecnica Salesiana's branch campus in Quito held the International Conference on Smart Technologies, Systems and Applications (SmartTech-IC 2019) which was attended by researchers, scientists and technicians from the main companies, universities, research groups and government agencies from around the world in order to present their research results, inventions and innovative applications in the field of Smart Sciences, as well as the most recent technological tendencies.
 
The welcoming speech was given by Jose Juncosa, vice president of our branch campus in Quito, "Universidad Politecnica Salesiana is a university that welcomes national and international people in academia and is committed to creating knowledge networks". The conferences began with Alfredo Hernandez, director of research in the French National Institute of Health and Medicine, who spoke about the digital processing of biomedical signals and mathematical modeling to make devices that combine multiple high dimension sources applied to dysfunctions of the cardiorespiratory system.
