"Knowledge must be used to serve and to love, not for power," this is how Javier Herrán, UPS president, welcomed students of the Los Andes, Técnico Salesiano, Corazón de María, Francisco Febres Cordero high schools and Fundación Paces to the launch of the third edition of the magazine "Juventud y Ciencia Solidaria" promoted by the Unesco Chairs program of the university.

In this third edition, high school students wrote articles about science and technology, which are the result of research processes in different areas.

Fernando Pesántez, General Vice-President of UPS and Director of the UNESCO Chairs Program; Assistive Technologies for Inclusive Education, thanked the participating students and highlighted that their contribution to the University is very big, since they show that research can also come from the youngest.

Students with hearing impairment thanked the Unesco Chairs program of the University using sign language for the opportunity to allow them to write their research, which would normally be denied in other spaces.

In addition to the launch of the magazine, recognition diplomas were awarded to the participating students
