UPS supports TED talks in high schools

Universidad Politecnica Salesiana (UPS) and the Northern District of Education are promoting TEDx Cuenca talks for high schools which will help develop and transform their education through the TED clubs.

The TED clubs is program that supports educational institutions and students so they can discover and present their ideas through TED talks.

In the first stage, the TED team conducted training sessions aimed at teachers from different high schools in the city. They were given tools to use with their students so they can create ideas and then communicate them.

In the final stage of the program students presented their talks in their high school to their classmates and the overall public. 

The TED-ED Clubs project is held in different countries and it is the first time it will take place in our city. It started last year in November and there are 25 participating high schools, some of which are:  Unidad Educativa Porvenir, Unidad Educativa Herlinda Total, Unidad Educativa Asunción, Unidad Educativa Borja, Colegio de Bachillerato Ricaurte, Unidad Educativa Checa, Unidad Educativa Zoila Aurora Palacios
