The university's branch campus in Cuenca signed three agreements with organizations that represent underserved sectors of the city: Unidad Educativa Especial Stephen Hawking, Asociación de familias y amigos en búsqueda de la capacitación, asistencia, programas e investigación de autismo (ADACAPIA), and Asociación de Personas Sordas del Azuay (A.P.S.A).

Fernando Moscoso, vice president of Universidad Politecnica Salesiana in Cuenca, said he is very pleased with the signing of the agreements since his goal is to support people from underserved sectors of society, which is aligned to the university's mission statement.

During this event, the university awarded high school students recognition certificates for their participation in the workshops on entrepreneuship, technologies, computer assembly, electronics, 3D printing and industrial design for the production of prototypes for people with disabilities.

To close the event, Fernando Pesantez, general vice president of Universidad Politecnica Salesiana and director of Unesco chairs program on assistive technologies for inclusive education, congratulated the students who took part of these workshops, as well as the instructors. He stressed the work carried out the Unesco chairs, where young instructors, who have understood that a person's mission is to serve others, teach other youngsters.
