The university's branch campus in Guayaquil assigned new directors for the psychology, basic education, early education, electronics, automation and telecommunications undergraduate programs. The new directors were named by UPS president Javier Herran and the vice president of the university's branch campus in Guayaquil, Raul Álvarez. 

Stalyn Paz Guerra, new director of the psychology undergraduate program, holds a bachelor's degree in communication sciences, a master's degree in educational psychology and another in business communication. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in social sciences. 

"For me it is an honor to take on this role in a time of constant changes in the country and the world. My commitment with this institution and education are strong enough to face any external situation", said Satlyn Paz. 

Susana Pombo, new director of the basic and early education undergraduate programs, holds a bachelor's degree in education, a diploma on innovative pedagogy and a master's degree in children´s literature. 

Susana Pombo has been a teacher for 25 years and believes this role represents an opportunity to contribute to the development of new professionals. "It is our responsibility to respond to the needs of students' professional growth, we must learn about their interests and act accordingly"; she said. 

Orlando Barcia, new director of the electronics and automation undergraduate program, is a computer engineer, holds a master's degree in higher education and another in systems and control engineering (robotics and automation).

"We must think about people first, our job must focus on students, professors, administrative staff and graduates. Understand each one and seek communication, respect and cooperation among all", he stated. 

David Cardenas, new director of telecommunications, is an electronics and telecommunications engineer, holds a master's degree in communication systems and technologies and another in mathematical methods and numeric simulation in engineering. 

"We will carry out innovative activities according to the country's telecommunications and technologies plan and concentrate on telecommunications infrastructure, increase ICTs services for people, use ICTs for the country's economic and social development", he said.
