Communication students and professors from our branch campus in Quito organized online conferences titled "Communication and Politics", there were forums, debates, webinars and contests where participants talked about political issues in the country.

The speakers were professors from European and Ecuadorian universities. "We need to educate people to be responsible when it comes time to choosing political representatives, it is also necessary to analyze the relation between communication and politics, rethink communication in new scenarios, social movements, women and participation", said Narcisa Medranda, director of the communication undergraduate program.

UPS president Javier Herran invited participants to reflect on being honest citizens and good Christians. "Today, we must not only educate ourselves, but we must understand each other, we must think about what it means to be good Christians and honest citizens".

Jose Juncosa, vice president of the university's campus in Quito, stated that this is an opportunity to learn about different proposals. "Communication has to focus on people".

The topics of the conference were "Rethinking communication in new scenarios", "Communication and political strategy", "Political communication in the community", "Communication and social movements", "Women and participation: new scenarios of communication with national and international exhibitors.
