Representatives of the basic and early education undergraduate programs in our branch campus in Guayaquil took part in the talk "Adaptability in education in times of Covid". The talk was about topics related to current education and was broadcast through the university's online radio.

The participants of this talk were Alexandra Higgins, Susana Pombo and Maria Inmaculada Reyes, who discussed the advantages and disadvantages of online education as well as the joint work of parents and teachers.

For Higgins, communication and agreements are fundamental in online education. She also stressed the importance of self-learning. "The online system is operating more in private education, in public education students carry out self-learning activities every week.

Communication between schools and parents enable students to reach educational goals. Activities on topics involving emotions and interdisciplinary activities is a new way of education. It is cooperative work to meet our students' interests and topics they want to learn about", said Pombo.

Maria Inmaculada Reyes, UPS student, stated that safety in virtual platforms is a disadvantage in online learning. She said that children face unsafe situations with people who join classes arbitrarily.

"The pandemic has been a great challenge. In my experience, there is stress when beginning a course without knowing how it's going to be done, but we should thank teachers for their work during this situation", she said.

For both public and private institutions, students are the center of learning. We must implement methodologies according their level and combine academia and emotions. "Children must feel that life goes on, despite the circumstances".
