Students majoring in basic and early education in our branch campus in Guayaquil celebrated 485 years' foundation of this city by organizing an event titled "GuayacoSalesiano". The event was held through zoom and the aim was to get several undergraduate programs together.

The event began with a recital of short phrases by Salesian students who showed their creativity in each of their presentations. "This activity means a lot to them since it has allowed us to integrate, get to know each other, have fun and at the same time it has been a cultural event because it has made it easier for us to talk about our city," said Susana Pombo, director of the education programs in Guayaquil.

There was a competition where students had to tell stories about the history of Guayaquil, some of its legends and information about its foundation. "This time we had to do through zoom because of the current situation, we hope we can get together once we go back to the university", said Gabriela Sailema, student majoring in early education.

There was another competition on typical food from Guayaquil, students had to explain the ingredients and how it is prepared.

Carolina Mora, student majoring in basic education, said this event is an opportunity to to continue learning in a different manner. "This event has helped take some stress away, but overall it has helped strengthen our friendship"
