The economics undergraduate program in our branch campus in Guayaquil held the webinar titled: "Economic profile of Ecuador". The aim was to determine the current economic situation of the country and present some tools to carry out a projection.

The speaker was Sixto Chang, economist and expert in finance with broad experience in the public sector. He talked about the GDP, consumption and investment, importance of macroeconomics and vector models.

Chang stressed the importance of mastering the bases of economics "One of the pillars of this major is macroeconomics, it allows us to know the reality of the professional field." On the other hand, he emphasized that the current scenario is directly related to the General State Budget and the financing rates subject to the international market.

"In general, financing has interest rates that are increasingly higher. We must work in a structured state where the state budget does not have a deficit, then there will be economic financing for our industries, banks, and companies," he said.

Andrés Bayolo, director of the Economics program in our branch campus in Guayaquil, thanked the speaker and the 215 participants who took part in the event.
