The new UPS-Cuenca choir directed by Diego Zamora Mendieta had its first presentation during the tribute to Don Bosco in the University Chapel.

The choir is made up by students from different majors who have worked hard during these last three months to prepare for their presentations. Diego Zamora, the current choir director, has a long history as a singer and musical director. He has performed in a number of events and won national and international awards, as the Salzburg Voice Festival 2012-Austria.

Here are some songs the choir sang during their first presentation: "Diuspac" a cañari song written at the end of the XVIII century; "Vasija de Barro", written by Gonzalo Benítez and Luis Alberto Valencia; "Alza que te han visto" by Segundo Luis Moreno.

The choir is only one of the groups that UPS offers its students so they can be part of extra-curricular activities that strengthen their professional education.

Students who are interested in being part of the UPS choir can sign up at the Communication and Culture department and participate in the auditions.
