Editors of the university's journals will take part in a workshop that will assess the indicators needed so that university publications can have access to the REDALYC Scientific Information System. The workshop, which will be held in April, is part of a process that UPS began 3 years ago in order to place the university's journals (Alteridad, Ingenius, La Granja, Retos. Sophia and Universitas) among the most important international publications.

Luis Álvarez Rodas, UPS general editor, said the university has worked hard so that its journals are more noticeable and that the authors are cited more often, making their research have a greater impact in the scientific community and overall society.

This process, which will make the university's journals cause a greater impact, has already been through several important stages such as indexing the journals to Latindex and the International Congress on Research, Scientific Production and University Publishing, which has held in Cuenca in October 2015, and was attended by representatives from SCImago Lab, SCOPUS, Redalyc, SCIELO, EULAC and Webometrics along with professors from Colombia, Italy, Spain, Argentina and Brazil.

The aricles published in the university's journals are an important contribution to the scientific community and therefore can be found in national and international libraries, which is a requirement in order to be placed in indexes with the world's most important journals.
