Professors and students met to discuss the code of conduct

On March 17, UPS President Father Javier Herrán presided a meeting with professors and staff to talk about the university's Code of Conduct. José Juncosa, UPS-Quito vice president, Patricio Benavides, academic coordinator, and Guillermo Pillajo, director of the HR department were also in the meeting.

Father Herrán spoke about the identity and the commitment of a UPS professor, academic freedom as a way to free the power of thought, the government's contribution and finally asked everyone to abide by this code.

José Juncosa spoke about creating a good university environment, he said ethics is about making decisions that improve the university community. He also invited people to read two books on ethics: Inmunitas. Protección y negación de la vida" and "Communitas. Origen y destino de la comunidad", written by Roberto Espósito.

Guillermo Pillajo talked about the most essential points in the code of conduct; values and principles of the salesian university. 

Patricio Benavides explained an approach to help reduce the number of students who fail subjects by improving evaluation practices.
