The "Santa Cecilia" singing competition finals

There were 11 participants in the finals of the "Santa Cecilia" singing competition which was held in the university theater in Cuenca, where this year's winner was Isabel Pineda, a student majoring in veterinary medicine. Second place was for Karina Cabrera who majors in occupational psychology and third place was for Edgar Lopez who studies communication. 

The first person up on stage was last year's winner Maritza Malla who was then followed by the other participants: Emilio Morocho, Lilibeth Lopez, Edgar Lopez, Veronica Jara, Jose Calle, Karen Salcedo, Karina Cabrera, Luis Cuzco, Isabel Pineda and Bryan Vega.

The jury was made up by renowned musicians Fabrizzio Vásquez, Marcelo Abad and Vicente Martínez, who also performed a song titled "Mi cacharrito".

UPS president Javier Herran awarded Isabel Pineda the first place prize, the vice president in Cuenca, Cesar Vasquez awarded Karina Cabrera the second place prize and finally Blas Garzon, director of the communication and culture department awarded Edgar Lopez the third place prize.
