On May 18, students in Quito visited the wastewater treatment plant located in Quitumbe, in southern Quito. The visit is part of the environmental impact class and the aim was to learn more about its design and installations. Once at the plant, workers answered students' questions and explained the process of treating wastewater. This plant will start working in September.

Students realized the importance of putting their theoretical knowledge in practice, which help them develop their skills in design and operating the structures in the plant.

Professor Diana Garcia said this visit was very enriching for students since it helped them get involved with their future profession in the field of potable water and sewerage.
