The first Engineering Software Meeting ("I Jornada de Ingeniería de Software") was held at UPS-Guayaquil- Centenario Campus last Wednesday, October 29th. The event was organized by the Software and Knowledge Engineering Research Group (GIISIC, in Spanish) and the IEEE student branch at UPS-GYE.

These are topics that were presented during the I Meeting:

• "Software measurement and its applications" by Ph.D. Mónica Villavicencio, 
• "Software tools for BPM projects" by Ph.D. Carlos Monsalve A.
• "Distributed Programming & Software Engineering" by M.Sc. Allan Avendaño
• "Project Management in Software Engineering" by M.Sc. Galo Valverde.

Professionals, professors, and students filled the University meeting room to witness this event which took place thanks to the UPS-Guayaquil Vice President, the Communication Department, and the Systems Engineering major.
