The Chamber of Industries and Production acknowleged Father Bottasso for his work

Father Juan Bottasso, founder and director of research of the Abya Yala-UPS Publishing House, received an acknowledgment award in the category "Dialogo Social" from the Chamber of Industries and Production of Ecuador. On November 10th, this institution celebrated its 80th anniversary with an event in Swissotel where several renowned Ecuadorian representatives from the productive, social and cultural fields attended.

Father Bottasso was acknowledged for his valuable contribution to interculturality in Ecuador. Some of his works are: support to the indigenous movement of Shuar in the Amazon, missionaries that are respectful with cultures and indigenous territories, language and intercultural education, the creation of the "Mundo Shuar" editorial and its continuation as the Abya Yala Cultural Center, the Abya Yala Publishing House and the Abya Yala museum.

During the event, Adrian Werthein, president of the Inter American Council of Commerce and Production in Argentina, presented the topic "Responsiblities of entrepreneurs in the social and economic future of nations. Reflections for Ecuador"

The Ecuadorian Chamber of Industries and Production is an institution that represents 32 productive sectors which together generate over 150,000 jobs in the country.
