The early and basic education undergraduate programs in our branch campus in Guayaquil held the first scientific student meeting to present topics related to education, pedagogy and educational innovation.

The aim of the meeting was to help students develop their research skills and strengthen their learning process by creating their own work; during the event they presented their research results.

“It was an enriching experience for us because we collected information that will help us find new methods to solve current problems in education”, said Maria Lorena Rengifo, student representative. 

Speakers presented their research in ten minutes. During the morning session they addressed education and its relationship with issues such as family, psychomotor practice, violence and learning environments. In the afternoon, they discussed education and the influence of communication, virtual teaching, and the teacher as a digital migrant.

Susana Pombo, director of the education programs, stressed the importance of supplemented knowledge and asked everyone to seek pedagogical solutions "I am pleased to present our first meeting, this project emerged to make students concerned about and give answers to educational needs, through scientific research”, she said.

Raúl Álvarez, vice president of our branch campus in Guayaquil, also stressed the importance of raising awareness on educational problems: “I congratulate the organizers, having these meetings allows us to debate where education is going, and where it is at”.
