UPS president presented the university's annual report

UPS president Javier Herran Gomez presented the annual report of the work carried out in the university during 2016. In the presentation he spoke about the university's academic management, research, community involvement and administration. He talked about the university's growth saying that up to December 2016 there were 25,540 students: 6388 in Cuenca, 7757 in Guayaquil and 11900 students in Quito. 

He also spoke about professors' education and training and how they are currently studying in different universities around the world. 

Regarding research, he said there have been important advances in terms of researchers' training, publications in indexed journals, participation in international congresses, courses, seminars and workshops. 

In terms of publications, he recognized the work done by the university's publications council. In this regard, Luis Alvarez Rodas, explained the work carried out in order to promote the university's publications. 

Concerning community involvement projects, there are a total of 205: 97 in Cuenca, 42 in Guayaquil and 66 in Quito. Luis Tobar, UPS general vice president, presented an economic report where he highlighted the efficient management carried out by the institution.  He explained that all three branch campuses growing in terms of infrastructure with new classrooms, labs and study spaces.

Finally, UPS president Javier Herran thanked the entire university community for all the work they do to make Politecnica Salesiana University better.
