2. What is the dual education system?

The Dual education system combines academic training at the university and apprenticeships in a company. At UPS students are guided by professors with broad experience and knowledge and will have access to all its state of the art laboratories.


Students will carry out hands on practice in industrial companies. They will be at the company’s most important departments and be supervised by a company tutor. They must abide by the company’s rules and schedules.


Students will be evaluated in every area and they must present an innovative project in order to earn their degree. 

At the end of the third and fifth semester students will take an exam that will make them eligible to obtain a German International Certificate issued by the Ecuadorian – German Chamber of Industries and Trade.


The certificate is valid in Germany since the requirements are basically the same as the ones in Germany. 



•    Choose one of the programs and register. You will get a confirmation email with a username and password. Registration has no cost. 


•    You will get an email (personal and institutional email) with the date and time you must go to the university to take a simple test at no cost. 


•    After the test, participants go through a recruitment process which has been established by each company. Students must attend an interview. 


Students must complete all these requirements in order to be chosen. 



•    A color Passport photo 

•    A copy / scanned copy of your Identification card or passport

•    A copy / scanned copy of high school diploma. International diplomas must be recognized by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education.

•    Take the test

•    Attend the interview


- Registration starts January 25th (Cuenca, Guayaquil and Quito) 

- Test: March 3rd (Cuenca and Quito) / March 31st (Guayaquil)

- Register the subjects you will be taking: March 21st (Cuenca and Quito) / April 20th (Guayaquil)

The process will be held online. 


Cost:


Registration has no cost. After registering students must pay $110 to enroll.
