The UPS Guayaquil Robotics club represented the university remarkably well in the "X Ecuadorian Robotics Championship" that was held in Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo (UNACH), in the city of Riobamba on November 19^th 20th and 21^st.   Here are the results:

"Transformer" category: 1^st place

The prototype is called BoscoOptimus, This robot can transform itself into a car.   The creators are Erick Rea Escalante, Geovanny García Flor, and Elson Guizamano Araujo                                                                     

"Mega Sumo" category: 1st place

This MegaSumo robot is called Despeinado 3.0. This robot has already competed in other contests this year and it is the current champion. Its creator is Bruno Tumbaco Toala

"Transformer" category:  2nd place

This prototype is called BoscoAraña and it transforms into a war tank. The creators are Erick Rea Escalante, Geovanny García Flor, and Elson Guizamano Araujo.

"Soccer" category: 3^rd place

Radio controlled soccer playing robots. Created by  Ángel Manzano Galarza, Sixto Ponce Rodríguez and Bryan González Macías.

"MicroSumo" category: 3rd place

This robot must push its opponent out of the ring just like in sumo wrestling. The robot must have certain weight and size. Creator: Ángel Manzano Galarza.

Throughout the competition the students showed their great team work skills t, and were able to apply all the knowledge they have learned in class.
