Our branch campus in Cuenca held an inauguration ceremony for the new representatives of the 2025 IEEE Students Branch. University officials, students and professors attended the event. 

The program began with a speech from Andrés Torres, outgoing president of the IEEE Branch, who presented the accomplishments during his period. They presented recognitions to the outgoing board members of the 2024 term, to Dr. Fernando Moscoso Merchán, Vice president of our campus in Cuenca, and to other people who have actively contributed to the growth of the IEEE Branch.

 
The new representatives will be in charge for a one-year term. The positions are: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Coordinator, Webmaster, Advisor, and Mentor (IEEE professor). Doménica Beltrán, president of the IEEE UPS Student Branch Cuenca Campus, spoke about her commitment to progress and the renewal of ideas within the organization.

This event marks the transition of leadership and ensures the continuity of projects as well as new initiatives. Through this process, the IEEE Student Branch continues to strengthen its structure and commitment to its members.

 
The IEEE UPS Cuenca Student Branch was founded in 2006 and has been a benchmark in student activities, with 250 active members. The organization is made up of seven technical chapters: IEEE CAS, IEEE CS, IEEE EMB, IEEE IES, PES, IEEE RAS, and IEEE VTS; and two affinity groups: IEEE SIGHT and IEEE WIE. It has also stood out for its participation in national and international events, earning important recognitions.

At the end of the ceremony, the new members pledged to work hard and responsibly for the advancement of each of the IEEE student branches through their commitment to innovation, knowledge, and the development of the university community.
