On May 26th, Dr. Beatriz Zabalondo from Universidad del País Vasco, in Spain, led the talk titled "Quality Journalism". The talk was part of the university's continuing education program for students, alumni and professors.

Dr. Zabalondo invited attendees to reflect and debate on journalism, not only from the perspective of their relationship with the media but from academia, research and the development of communication processes.

The speaker shared some research conducted by the media and education research group from Universidad del País Vasco, about the quality of the media, production methods, the length and the management of news, unemployment, segmentation of new means, degradation of contents, all in the European context.

She also talked about the work methodology based on a diachronic analysis of the quality of news between 2001 and 2012, a comparative study between print and digital press, a diagnosis and projection of current journalism. The researcher invited participants to reflect on journalism and communication and be aware of journalistic work and socialize and share knowledge, experiences should only lead to writing, but to contrast, contextualize and verify information.
