A talk on the economy, projects and opportunities
The communication undergraduate program organized a meeting to discuss intervention projects and the management of economic resources. The speakers were: Luis Tobar, director of the Economics undergraduate program in UPS's branch campus in Cuenca; Cecilia Vaca, director of Bernard Van Lee Ecuador; and Maria Augusta Proaño, director of Fundación Movistar.
Luis Tobar analyzed the economy before the pandemic, he spoke about the country's liquidity, the government's proposals and suggested that "we don't need more taxes, we need the IRS to collect money from owing companies":
Regarding projects, Cecilia Vaca stated that "there should be a good analysis regarding the execution of projects that contributes to public policies and a process of change, without forgetting the context." She recommended having people with high influence and interest, and pay special attention to implementation and evaluation for the proposal to be carried out.
Proaño considered this crisis as an opportunity to get to know ourselves better and develop new skills and strengths. She spoke about experience of the foundation in relation to the public and private sector. "Now, our work has made sense, we are collaborating with our platforms, methodologies and teaching resources. It is necessary to create cooperation networks between the public and private sector. Knowing how to work, share, share resources and knowledge makes it possible to get better results", she stated.
