Members of the university's Education and Interculturality Research Group (GIEI for its acronym in Spanish) presented the project titled "Investigación sobre educación y docencia en tiempos de emergencia sanitaria por el Covid-19" (Research on education and teaching in times of the Covid 19 health emergency). The proposal was presented by María Sol Villagómez, coordinator of the group, who stated that the purpose of the work is to know about the challenges of teaching in various contexts and school realities in the country.

During the presentation, they explained the research methods and techniques of the survey that will be applied to teachers of the National Education System and the Bilingual Intercultural Education System. "We are interested in knowing what happens in the rural areas of the Amazon, the Coast, the Sierra and therefore we have thought about activating research networks to reach teachers. Networks such as Red Estrado Ecuador, our graduates, colleagues from the other branch campuses of the university", said Sebastián Granda, director of the Bilingual Intercultural Education program.

The talk was attended by professors María Elena Ortiz, René Unda and Milton Cerda. The surveys will be applied in the next few days, there will also be interviews to get more detailed information.
