4th Music Festival, Pukllay - Perú
The traditional music group "Pumapungo" from our branch campus in Cuenca took part in the 4th Music Festival "Pukllay" organized by the Orquesta de Cámara Inkaica in Cusco Peru, which this year was held online.
"Pukllay" is a collective and massive festival that lasts about 15 days and begins especially in the high Andean rural area of Andahuaylas with the participation of more than 50 peasant communities from the districts of Talavera, Andahuaylas and San Jerónimo that make up the valley of "Chumbao".
The aim of the festival was to disseminate and value traditional music, in addition to making society aware of the importance of Pukllay.
This edition also featured the presentation of traditional Bolivian and Ecuadorian music through the groups Centro Cultural Wila Quilu from Bolivia and Pumapungo from our branch campus in Cuenca, Ecuador.
The Pumapungo group is made up of students from different undergraduate programs and is directed by Oswaldo Morocho, who was happy for having been invited to participate in this international event.
