Luis Calle, UPS professor and coordinator of the "Small Scientists" Project, attended the 37th Anual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society which was held in Milan, Italy. 

This is the first time Italy hosted an event which gathered the largest biomedical engineering society; it was also a great opportunity to learn about biomedical engineering activities around the world.

Professor Calle presented the paper titled "Walking cycle control for an active ankle prosthesis with one degree of freedom monitored from a personal computer." His paper will be indexed to IEEE Xplore, the world's highest quality literature in engineering and technology, and Medline/Pubmed, which contains more than 22million journals on biomedicine.
