Last November 16th, the TICAD (ICTs associated with disabilities) Research group hosted the "Seminar on Inclusive Education for the Visually Impaired" at Universidad Politécnica Salesiana.

The event was sponsored by the Iberoamerican Network on Educational Computing-Ecuador (RIBIE), FENCE (National Federation of the blind in Ecuador) and its project on "Cultural, Social and Economic Development and the equality of rights for the visually impaired in Ecuador (DECSEDIV)", AGORA, and the free software group GASOL.

The seminar allowed the attendees to experience some of the things the visually impaired go through in their everyday lives; they also learned how to support educational inclusion for the visually impaired, and finally learned more about their duties and rights.
