200 students took part in the 3rd Electricity and Sciences Symposium

The electrical and telecommunications undergraduate programs in the university's branch campus in Cuenca organized and held the 3rd Electricity and Sciences Symposium where the central topic was "Energy in today's world".

Students presented 11 projects and 2 conferences, the first was titled "Conexión de Generación Distribuida en la Red del Distribuidor" led by members of the electrical company who explained what they do to avoid loss of energy in the distribution. The second conference was titled "Introducción a las Redes FTTx y casos de éxito implementados en la región" led by Javier Martinez from the Telecom Austro company. He spoke about the advantages companies have had with the implementation of FTTx networks.

Juan Pablo Salgado, head of research at UPS, inaugurated the symposium and spoke about the importance of holding these events to foster research, which is a priority at the university. Cesar Vasquez, vice president of the university's branch campus in Cuenca, congratulated everyone in charge of organizing this event.

Walter Orozco, director of the telecommunications program, and Marco Carpio, director of the electricity program, were pleased with the participation of students and said the next edition will have more interesting topics for students.
