The Inclusion Center, the Information and Communication Technologies for Disabilities Research Group and the Free Software Group in our branch campus in Guayaquil held a training course on "Microsoft Excel with NVDA – Level 1", which enables people with visual impairment to learn about the tools that can be used in computers.

The course was supported by UNESCO- Assistive Technologies for inclusive education; the course will also allow participants to strengthen their opportunities for labor and educational integration. "This type of course has been demanded by society because it is useful for several areas such as administration, accounting and managing data bases", said Wladimir Velasco, facilitator of the course.

"It was a very enriching experience because it was an opportunity to teach people with disabilities", said Jimmy Mero, student of computer engineering.

The course was attended by 20 people with visual impairment from different educational institutions. In the next few months there will be an English course and one on the use of the internet.
