International experts in Information and Communication Technologies for Education took part in the webinar on "ICTs for education" organized by the university's postgraduate department. There were over 600 participants who discussed the current education system as well as the use of educational strategies such as online courses. Professors have had to adapt to new teaching methodologies, evaluations and reflect on the contribution of ICTs to education. 

UPS president Javier Herran stated that "education has become virtual and we have discovered how ICTs can support education. Online education has facilitated learning and has enabled teachers to discover new teaching tools." He also said it is important to learn how to use new tools and to maintain salesian identity. 

Speakers:  

Isabel Cristina Ángel-Uribe, profesor in the Education Master's degree program at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana de Colombia, spoke about massive open online courses which are free and said that during March and April demand of these courses has increased in Latin America

Esteban Inga Ortega, professor and researcher at UPS, said professors must be motivated in order to adapt to current contexts; he also talked about flipped learning.

Natalia Orenes, who holds a master's degree in teacher training and is a pedagogical consultant, spoke about B-learning and presented tools that professors can use to improve their teaching. 

Juan Cristóbal Castro, PhD in Education, spoke about Gamification. 

Marcelo Borba, who holds a master's degree in mathematics, spoke about how to strenghten education in the XXI century and how everyone must conduct research despite not having access to ICTs.
