Senior year students from 10 high schools in Cuenca were part of the university's community involvement project titled "Physics applied to engineering", which was organized by the mechanical engineering major.

The aim is to make high school students learn more about the reality of physics applied to engineering. Students were asked to test their math and physics abilities through several activities which were meant to solve different problems.

These events awaken people's curiosity and interest for new technologies which are meant to help human beings. The following high schools visited UPS-Cuenca: Unidad Educativa Salesiana María Auxiliadora, Liceo Americano, American School, De la Salle, Manuel Garaicoa de Calderón, CEBCI, Juan Bautista Vásquez.
