The university's branch in Cuenca held the "Distinguished Lecturer Tour. IEEE Conference" which was attended by renowned exponents in the fields of leadership and Network Safety.
Telecommunications companies like ETAPA, ECU911, EMAC EP, MOVISTAR, CLARO, CNT, ARCOTEL as well as educational institutions like Universidad del Azuay, Universidad de Cuenca, ESPOL, UIDE and Colegio Técnico Salesiano also attended.

UPS president Javier Herran thanked the speakers for being in the event and the IEEE for their support to society. Gonzalo Davalos gave a talk on "Motivation and Leadership" and gave people some advice and neurotips on how to manage groups in the academic, personal and professional field.

The last conference was given by Tilman Wold, professor from the University of Massachusetts, who presented his research in telecommunications. In his talk titled "Attacks and hardware defenses", he presented new solutions to control threats in the light of an increase of threats in public networks (internet) and private.

This event was organized by IEEE UPS-Cuenca, Sociedad Técnica IEEE ComSoc Ecuador, the IEEE Cuenca students branch and the logistics support of the electronic engineering major
