Just as the university's journals ALTERIDAD and SOPHÍA were included in the digital library and database of open access journals REDALYC (Red de Revistas Científicas de América Latina y el Caribe, España y Portugal); after meeting the quality criteria required to be included in REDALYC, the university's journals UNIVERSITAS, a journal of social and human sciences, and LA GRANJA, a journal of life sciences, have also been included in this database.

The university's other two journals, INGENIUS,  a journal of science and technology, and RETOS, a journal of administrative and economic sciences, are currently in the scientific and evaluation committee of REDALYC.

"This process began about two years ago thanks to the initiative and support of the university's officials  and with the active and constant participation of the editors of each of the journals", said the university's general editor Luis Alvarez Rodas.

This project is even more ambitious and people have already started to work so that in the future the university can have its journals in other important databases such as SCOPUS and WEB OF SCIENCE. In this regard, the university has hired international consulting to work on an strategic plan to position the journals internationally.
