The university’s “Pequeños Científicos” project project in our branch campus in Cuenca, won first place in the video category at the 5th International Congress on Community Engagement, organized by Escuela Superior Politécnica Agropecuaria de Manabí (ESPAM MFL).

The aim of this important event was to disseminate the results and impact generated by community engagement programs, projects, and activities carried out by higher education institutions, as well as by public and private entities and social organizations, both nationally and internationally. The conference focused on technological innovation as a fundamental tool for addressing current social challenges and promoting sustainable rural productive development.

The video captures more than thirteen years of continuous work, showing its impact on motivation and critical thinking in children, teens, teachers, and families of educational institutions in Cuenca, with a special focus on vulnerable contexts. This project is in line with the university’s mission, which seeks comprehensive education and strengthening of scientific competencies.

This recognition confirms UPS's commitment to social engagement through initiatives that generate real impact in education and the community. Projects like “Pequeños Cientificos” expand access to knowledge and promote learning opportunities in low-income settings.
